Chloe & Anthony- The Netherwood Hotel, Grange-Over -Sands

I enjoyed a fantastic day at The Netherwood Hotel, Grange-over-Sands  a couple of weeks ago,  photographing the wedding of the lovely Chloe and Anthony. They were married at St Paul’s Church, Grange- over -Sands and had a beautiful sunny day. The bride’s Grandmother made all the bouquets which was a special touch for Chloe. Chloe arrived at Church in a vintage car provided by Cumbria Classic Coaches and guests were transported in one of their vintage coaches.
During the reception, music was provided by my friend and very talented musician AnnaKate Pearson Harpist. She really is a wonderful addition to any wedding and plays a wide variety of musical genres to suit each couple.

This was my second wedding photography shoot at The Netherwood Hotel, since it was taken over by new management and is still run as professionally as before and always a pleasure to work here.
The guests carried the joy of the day through into the evening reception and danced the night away in the ballroom.

Ruth & Matthew- Broadoaks Country House

Congratulations to the lovely Ruth & Matthew who were married at Broadoaks Country House Hotel a couple of weeks ago.
The couple had an Alice in Wonderland theme so I had to take a ‘through the looking glass’ image of Ruth as she was preparing in her room.
The weather was as to be expected for February in the Lakes but we still managed to brave the winds and take a few pictures at the fountain outside (upwind of the water).
The couples dogs also joined in the day and had a great time.

Rachel Winter Photography ltd, Wedding Hair shoot

It was lovely to do a commercial shoot yesterday with fellow wedding suppliers. Shelley Jayne Gibson is enjoying a very exciting move to new premises and we put together some looks for her new window display. Shelley has been my hairdresser for many years and creates some beautiful wedding hair styles for brides and Bridesmaids. The stunning models were Aimée Chorley Make-Up Artist, who wore her own wedding dress for the shoot and looked absolutely amazing, Shelley’s adorable Lacey and Molly who is turnIng into an absolutely stunning young lady. Jane and Carl- Castle Green Hotel

I loved Jane and Carl’s wedding which took place on 17th September 2016.It seemed so long ago when Jane booked me last Winter and I have enjoyed being in contact with them throughout the preparations.   Jane spent the morning at her parents beautiful home and travelled a short distance to Kirkby Stephen Church which is one of my favourite churches. The entrance in the marketplace, boasts elegant stone pillars and provides a wonderful backdrop as the Bride processes up the path to the church doorway. Carl and his Groomsmen were all very punctual and organized and looked very smart in their wedding suits.

A reception at Castle Green Hotel was to follow which was very handy for me as I literally live across the road and didn’t have far to travel at the end of the day.

The guests danced the night away and all had a fantastic time.

Krystal -Pre Raphaelite shoot and styling

I had been asked to do hair, makeup and photography for Krystal Helen Clark who is a local professional singer. She needed some artwork for her new album cover and I love ethereal, fairyland, woodland photography so came up with the pre Raphaelite style shoot.
I hope you enjoy the images below and anyone with similar style fancy dress costumes which you will never wear, think again. these shoots are great fun, something different and the results are great with correct overall styling and editing.

Grace and Andrew- Armathwaite Hall

Armathwaite Hall Weddings are always a pleasure to be part of. The Hall boasts an enviable backdrop overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and the majestic fells beyond. Grace and Andrew were married at the lovely St John’s church in Beckermet at the end of July and held their reception at Armathwaite Hall. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and I must confess I did enjoy an hour sitting in the gardens whilst the guests had their wedding breakfast.
Grace looked beautiful in a stunning dress and complemented by her gorgeous bridesmaids.

The Pastures Holiday lodges- Allithwaite

When I was asked to photograph luxury lodges a couple of years ago at Crake Valley Holiday Park Cumbria, I was delighted to take on a commercial photography shoot, which are all so very different and challenging. The luxury holiday lodge park had been up and running for a short time and I photographed the park and lodge interiors for the Hoseasons brochure. Moving forward two years, the lodges have become extremely popular and are absolutely beautiful inside. The park is literally across the road from Coniston and great for children to enjoy a summer paddle. I was asked last week to photograph the second lodge park at Allithwaite The Pastures. These lodges have to be seen to be believed. The majority come with private hot tub and the interiors are amazing. I have included a few images here for the next Hoseasons brochure and also included on the website Well worth a few nights peace away from the stresses of life. The bespoke blinds have been expertly fitted by Darren at Portobello Blinds. Based in Carnforth, Lancs, you can visit their website at

Wendy and Paul- Underley Grange

I didn’t meet this amazing couple until the actual wedding day and immediately felt comfortable when I walked into the bridal suite and the first thing Wendy asked me was if I would like Bucks fizz or Prosecco!!!! I started the morning as make up artist for Wendy her daughter and bridesmaid. We had a fantastic, relaxed morning. The ceremony was held in the main entrance with the guests seated outside. Brollies ready as the showers fooled us all day but this didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit and it faired up for the photos.

Underley Grange is a beautiful venue for a wedding and I really enjoyed spending the day with this wonderful couple and their great family and friends.

Helen and Kevin -Kendal register office & The Glass House, Crook

Helen and Kevin eloped to Kendal register office to tie the knot a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed spending the day with them and two close friends. After the ceremony, we headed to  The Glass House at Crook for some photographs by the tarn. Helen looked very beautiful in her wedding dress and enjoyed having her photograph taken in the wonderful gardens. After the photos, the couple headed to Gilpin Lodge for dinner. Congratulations to you both.

Amy & Martin -The Merewood Windermere

This beautiful couple were an absolute joy to photograph on their wedding day at the Merewood in Windermere last weekend. The morning brought fantastic weather and a n abundance of gorgeous girls getting ready for the bride’s big day, Amy looked radiant in her dress and make up and hair were finished and ready to go when I arrived. An emotional ceremony was held in the main function room and then it was time for the guests to enjoy drinks in the sunshine whilst an hour was spent photographing the wonderful wedding party. I was made to feel very welcome throughout the day and dancing continued long into the night.
